I was 30 years old when he was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), a primary brain tumor. Even though I had the support from my family and friends I didn’t know anyone that could relate to the fight I was about to embark on or beaten the same type of cancer. In 2012 I founded a non-profit called Greg’s Mission.
Greg’s Mission provides support, HOPE, education, current resources and awareness to patients suffering from brain tumors especially Glioblastoma Multiforme (a grade IV primary brain tumor) via phone, email, skype and personal visits. I have dedicated my life to making sure that no person diagnosed with a brain tumor has to go through the experience alone and that no family or caregiver goes without support.
Since founding GM I have helped over 2800 patients, families and caregivers navigate their brain tumor journey. Additionally, I volunteer at MD Anderson, Cleveland Clinic and The Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation as a patient mentor and advocate.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, I went looking for resources to help me through my journey. I did extensive research into both the medical and psychological experiences i would encounter because I feel that the more I know, the better I'll be able to handle whatever comes my way. When I couldn't find the resource I was looking for - a girlfriend's guide to breast cancer - I decided to write it myself. What started as a blog, became a book published by HarperCollins in 2015.
After "Bald is Better with Earrings - A Survivor's Guide to Breast Cancer" was published, I became interested in advocacy and in making sure that the patient's voice is heard. I graduated from Project Lead, am an Alamo Scholar, a Komen Advocate in Science and a state leader for Young Survival Coalition.
