I am the bridge and voice of the customer (s) - translating user needs to the team building the solution. I establish strategic alliances with prospective customers / users / experts and others who help to define core problems including current solutions that do not work. At the early stage, this most often leads to the creation of some set of unique processes and set of features that address and resolve unexpressed problems and unmet needs. From that point on, I am the connector both within the team, between the team and users, and with prospective customer champions. I am an evangelist, strategist, solution designer, team builder and team member (my favorite role).
As a Clinician, I use the same process in assessing and addressing symptoms . Knowing the cause is not enough to stop the behavior and improve one's daily existence . I believe everyone does the best they can based on the information they have at that time. I endeavor to increase that information.
As a certified caregiving consultant and a certified yoga instructor, I offer family caregivers: (1) resources; (2) research, and (3) relaxation. It's my "Three R's for Restoring Family Careging Sanity" Look, I know what it's like. The exhaustion. The overwhelm. The fear of not quite knowing you're doing yet needing to do it anyway because if not you then who? I was a family caregiver . . . with my parents . . . in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
