I was trained to be a cancer research advocate through the Research Advocacy Network. I use various forms of social media from blogging, to Facebook, to Twitter to Instagram to share information about ovarian cancer and related research. I share my story with the disease as well as explain research to other women diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer and their caregivers.
I have run workshops on advocacy, understanding cancer research and building community in 140 characters.
As a member of ASCO, I have served on two clinical guideline panels, one on neoadjuvant chemotherapy for advanced ovarian cancer and one on antiemetics.
