As Public Affairs & Social Media Manager, I oversee the Foundation's public relations and digital communications efforts, with a focus on advocacy and patient-facing initiatives. I provide strategic communication support throughout the organization, working on promotional efforts to highlight the different patient and professional programs and research initiatives run by the organization. I manage awareness-building campaigns, both online and offline, and manage the Foundation's relationships with key opinion leaders, including patient influencers, professional athletes, and other celebrities.
As a Communications Consultant, I provide strategic communications guidance to a wide range of organizations, including the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, Jewish Family Service of North Jersey, and Bellhops. I draft press releases and other media materials; offer guidance for crafting and pitching stories; develop press lists; and ghostwrite articles, blog posts, and other external organizational materials.
As Senior Press Officer, I oversaw all aspects of media relations for the leading Jewish international development and human rights organization. I handled media inquiries and interviews with national, international, and Jewish media outlets, including briefing and staffing C-level executives, international staff, and grantees in the 19 countries where AJWS works. I also provided rapid media response to international crises impacting our partners.
As Director of Media Communications, I oversaw all aspects of print and digital communications for the environmental non-profit dedicated to protecting the land, air, and water in Connecticut and Long Island Sound. I handled media inquiries and interviews with print, radio, and online media outlets in New York and Connecticut. I managed content creation for the organization's five existing social media profiles and tracked and analyzed related analytics. I redesigned and managed the organizational website, writing new content and improving communication flow with audience members.
As the Press Assistant (2009-2010) and Deputy Press Secretary (2010-2011) to former U.S. Senator Chris Dodd, I planned and staffed events for the Senator related to current legislation, organized and staffed the Senator at print, radio and television interviews and editorial board meetings. I drafted all press and briefing materials for the Senator and prepped him before events and interviews. I also managed relationships with key Connecticut reporters covering national politics and advised the Senator on current state issues.
